Project Overview

The project lowers the surface-water table caused by uncontrolled wastewater discharge and addresses the environmental and public-health impacts of groundwater contamination, while extending sewerage service to the Al-Taawun, Al-Hamra, Ibn Sina, Al-Fawaziyah Industrial and Al-Sawari districts and further areas of Al-Khobar, in line with the National Water Company strategy, the Supply and Demand Document and Saudi Vision 2030. The scope comprises 95,867 linear metres of gravity sewers in diameters from 200 mm to 1,100 mm, 21,273 linear metres of force mains in diameters from 150 mm to 900 mm, the construction of four new pumping stations and the rehabilitation of six existing pumping stations.
